Holiday Haul – Better Late Than Never!

31 Jan

I never got around to posting about my gifts and purchases this past holiday, but at last I got the blogging bug and had to show you some neat stuff. I’ve got some use out of them since so there will be posts to follow!

Like I said in my previous post, I got the four boxes of nail tips as a gift and I already used the brown. I blended the natural to the tip using glitter to hide the smile line a little. Since I didn’t perfectly place the tip (still practicing!) I just wanted to blur the lines a bit. You will need to buy nail glue since these packs don’t come with them included.

One of my favorite purchases is the cuticle revitalizing oil. It comes in a pen with a brush tip for easy application and it helps soften the cuticles, preventing hang nails! Remember my swollen finger? Yeah…let’s not get that again.

I got strawberry and aloe scented pens, but the scent is very light and barely noticeable. However, it’s pleasant and gets the job done. They are small and can fit in your purse for those emergency cases or just to keep your tips from drying out.

Here comes the cutesy stuff: Fimo cakes and sweets.

Aren’t these just adorable? I can’t wait to use them, especially with spring around the corner.

I haven’t been shopping too much, but I did get the ZOYA polishes I ordered from that free giveaway earlier this month. I’ll have to update you on that one.

Until next time,

Jamie

Scented Nail Polish? Paint & Peel?

30 Jan

The first time I saw or even heard of scented nail polish was when I was shopping online at Forever 21. I thought, what a crazy idea! Sure enough, other brands (Revlon, Dior, Claire’s) have made the jump too so it’s not that crazy. I’m guessing it’s the same result but different smell. Has anyone tried it?

In addition to scented nail polish, the brand Sula is trying to market the ease of removing nail polish by peeling them off. I don’t know about you, but I hate when my paint chips. And honestly, if you lay it on thick the paint tends to peel off anyway. I’ll have to give it a chance though and see what the hype on that is about!

If anyone has tried it, give me your feedback. I’d love to hear what direction the nail polish trend is moving toward.

Remember that free giveaway I mentioned early this month? I FINALLY got it in the mail :D So excited! Straight out of the box and I’m already in love. Can’t wait to try them on :)

Stay tuned.

The Crème Shop Nail Tips

28 Jan

I got four boxes (pink, green, orange & brown) of these nail tips this past Christmas as a gift! Urban Outfitters is having a sale for only $2.99 a pop for a set of 10 tips! Total steal :) I just recommend going to your local beauty supplier to buy nail glue if you want to do them yourself, or I’m sure you can bring them with you on your next appt at the salon to get your tips serviced.

I actually got a chance to use the brown tips for a wedding. I will have post soon to show you guys what I did…if I’m not lazy haha. Will try to get all my posts in order one day.
